Mask Policy Update:
As of 3/30/2023, the Covid transmission rate for Tioga County has been lessened to LOW - a low community level risk.
At the 9-21-2022 NVUMC Administrative Council meeting, a detailed discussion was conducted regarding our current Covid masking policy for the church. Following a vote, it was decided that we will now follow the same guidance as issued by the NYS Department of Health and / or Tioga County Public Health regarding the masking requirements for businesses and public schools. Currently masks are not being required by these governmental agencies for these particular entities.
Although the church encourages masks at this time, it will now be a personal decision for each church attendee as to whether to wear one or not (barring future revised guidance from the agencies above). To help everyone make their own informed decision on this issue, the current Covid transmission rate for Tioga County will be posted at each entrance to the church, included on a slide on the sanctuary monitors, and provided via the church email distribution list (which will only be reissued when the transmission rate changes).
It is a heartfelt request that everyone respect the personal decisions and vulnerable health status of others. If you choose to wear a mask as is being encouraged, please feel fully comfortable in doing so.
